1. What this policy covers
This policy covers the current Food-Safety.app mobile application for Android and iOS. It explains how the app handles information entered into it.
The current app is designed for single-device use. Its day-to-day food safety records are stored on that device, not in a Food-Safety.app cloud account or shared database.

3. Your food safety records stay on your device
Food-Safety.app stores the operational records you create locally on the device running the app. This can include temperature checks, cleaning records, deliveries, allergens, equipment details, staff-training entries, corrective actions and other food safety information you choose to enter.
We do not receive, store or have access to those locally held operational records. The app does not automatically sync them to Food-Safety.app servers, a cloud database or another device. It does not provide shared live records or remote manager access.
This means we cannot view, amend, restore or delete records held only on your device.
4. Information the app collects
The current app does not require you to create a Food-Safety.app account or sign in to record day-to-day food safety checks.
You may choose to enter names or other information about staff, suppliers or customers into your own records. That information remains on your device. You are responsible for making sure you have a lawful reason to record it and for keeping it to what is necessary.
Please do not enter unnecessary sensitive personal information, such as health information, into the app.
5. App-store subscriptions and payments
Subscriptions and payments for the app are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your device. Apple or Google processes payment information under its own privacy terms.
Food-Safety.app does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
6. PDF exports and sharing
PDF exports are created locally on your device when you ask for them. If you print, email, upload, save or share an export, the copy is then handled by the service or person you choose to use. You are responsible for protecting exported records where they contain personal, commercially sensitive or confidential information.
7. Deleting the app or changing device
Because records are held on the device, deleting the app, clearing its data, resetting the device or losing the device may permanently remove those records. We may not be able to recover them.
Keep suitable PDF exports or other backups where your business needs to retain records. Secure your device with an appropriate PIN, password or biometric lock, and keep its operating system updated.
8. How we handle enquiries
If you contact us through the Food-Safety.app website, we may use the contact details and message you provide to respond to you, provide support and keep appropriate business records. We keep enquiry information only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes or to meet legal or accounting requirements.
9. Your rights
Where we process personal information about you, you may have rights to access it, correct it, ask for it to be erased or restricted, object to certain processing, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Your rights depend on the circumstances and the legal basis for processing.
These rights do not allow us to access, amend or erase food safety records held only on your own device, because we do not hold them.

10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the app or the way we handle information changes. The latest version will be published on the Food-Safety.app website.
